Hey Guys, gotta say Goodbye for 3 Weeks because our flight to San Fracisco leaves today!!

We're going to stay in S.F. for 4 Days and then drive in Northern direction till Vancouver.

But our flight home is from San Francisco again o.O

On September first, I will be driving from Chicago to Los Angeles.

I'll probably get to the halfway point in Denver around Sept 2 or Sept 3. Can I sleep on your couch? I dont snore or smell bad, and I also don't steal things (which is a nice touch). I'm doing this trip with the money earned from selling all my possesions so I can't really afford a hotel.

Also, I can make a mean breakfast. If you enjoy plain toast for breakfast.

Glen Cambell singing "Time of your life" the Greenday song and

Paul Anka doing a fantastic version of " Smells like teen spirit " the Nirvana song in a Bobby Darin kind of way.

While I'm here can someone answer this for me , Did Glen Cambell play with Eddie Cochran ? Dont know where I got that idea but it's in my head .

This video is weird it looks like it was shot on the film stage for the labamba movie? I know Live Nude guitars was an 89 release. Judging from the hair this seems the era, however the stage throws me off, didn't Brian have much shorter hair when he played Eddie in the Labamba movie? I guess the question would be... Was Labama shot in 1988 or 1987 then released in 1989 or something?

On a side note, if you haven't youtube searched Eddie Cchran lateley,it sems someone has gratiously ...

When I heard that it will be the last tour of the cats, I started to think. I discovered the cats in '87 when I heard "Sth. wrong with my radio" on german radio. And with "Look at that Cadillac" I had a hym back when I was 13. Every day it was on my turntable!

According to the Music Tap Page and confirmed by poking around Amazon, the BSO is currently slated for two "Best of" Christmas collections on October 7th. One is called "THe Ultimate Christmas Collection" and the other is called "Christmas Rocks". The former is a more expensive piece...perhaps an import?

Tommy do you have any info on this? Can we expect any rare or unreleased items? And why two titles? Music Tap only listed the latter title in it's update, ...

I know the 1st cd was recorded at the ' 95 Montreal Jazz Fest ( ie. the same gig as brilliantly captured on the One Rockin' Night dvd), but can you confirm whether the 2nd cd is the Tokyo Akasaka Blitz 22/2/01 gig which is on dvd?

Rockabilly Chuck Problem

I have a Ibanez Hollowbody with a Line 6 Spider II Drive amplifier. I have trouble getting a good rockabilly chuck on it. Everything else sounds great. But when it comes to a fat duane eddy bass string chunk I can't get it chunky enough. I have my settings as such, if anyone else used a similar amp I hope you can help me.

CRUNCH: GREEN DRIVE: 5 BASS: 6 MIDDLE: 4 TREBLE: 8 CHAN VOL: 10

I use the delay instead of tape echo because the delay sounds more rockabilly. ...

Although I love the Stray Cats, it's dogs that I love the most. I don't know why, but I see a dog and go all googly straight away "Aww who's a cute puppy wuppy? YOU ARE!" etc. A few weeks ago my mother and I had noticed a stray dog that had been hanging around where we keep our horses. After about a week we started feeding the dog to gain her trust so we could get her into our car. Of course once we had her we put up 'FOUND' signs and ringing animal welfare to see if anyone had reported ...

Anyone catch Geraint Watkins being interviewed by Mark Lamar on BBC radio 2 last week 09 August.

He also played a couple of live songs.........he definately lets his fingers do the talking.

He must have worked with everybody in the music business, he appears on the RANT N RAVE album.

Also appeared on the Carl Perkins & Friends show back in the 80's.

A great keyboard player.

After thinking about it long and hard, our band Salvy And Da Hired Help, has decided to join the band line up for the monthly Rockabilly gig at the Adelaide Bowls Club on August 16. The other bands being The Saucermen and the Hoodoo Voodoo Dolls.

It'll be our first outting as a band as a whole, and not as guest appearences with our friends bands. Our singer and myself have been out of the band scene for 10+ years, so it'll be quite an interesting evening!

Well, after fawning over the electromatics for a few months, I finally jumped on a 5129. I'd been debating the orange 5120 for some time, but I've already got a semi-hollow with humbuckers that I love for rockabilly, so the 5120 wouldn't really be a useful addition to my collection. Plus, the orange, though an awesome color, is too much like Brian's guitar (also awesome), and I wanted something different for myself.

Though I wasn't looking at buying until early next year, I found a deal ...

Well, this is a nice little forum you have going here, so after a few months of lurking I figured I'd join you. I've been a fan of Brian's for only 6 months or so now. I've been playing guitar for around ten years, and I started looking at learning some Stray Cats music to help me figure out songs by another favorite guitarist of mine, Luke Doucet, who cited the Cats as an early influence. Instead I got hooked on Brian's music big time! Trying to learn some of his stuff has been tons of fun ...
