So, who collects stuff?

Like probably alot of you guys and gals here, I collect records and other music related paraphenalia.. but is there anything that you guys collect that may seem a little odd to the average punter?

Something that I have collected for a long time are Pez dispensers. I love Pez dispensers because they are fun and colourful. I also remember getting a Pez dispenser at the end of each month if I was good, so I only have great memories of them. It's also one of those things that you can get your whole family in on, and I frequently find dispensers left in my letterbox from a relative that picked it up at a garage sale or market. There really is a thrill of the chase to finding pez dispensers

Anywho, I have lots of Pez displays around my house as I try to display my collection in a way that's different to just putting them up on a shelf.. One of which is inside and around my alien head:




So what do you collect?

I used to collect model cars in 1:18 of scale, mostly cars from the 50s and 60s. After moving to a new flat I had no more room for the big and heavy show case and I sold most of the models on Ebay.
Now I just have a handful of models left, like a 55 Chevy Pickup, a 1952 VW Beetle, a Willy´s Jeep and a very sweet Citroen 2CV and a Harley Davidson Sportster.

I swapped over to collect guitars - by now I got 8, the 9th - a Telecaster with Bigsby needs to be built together and the 10th is an old German Jazz guitar from the early 1950s which needs a complete restauration. Jobs for the long and dark winter evenings coming.

I used to collect Archie comics even though I thought they were stupid and unfunny . Now all I collect are guitar picks.

Theres at least 5 times more than that scattered around my room and I lose at least one a day. Now I get to add a Setzer pick to the collection!

Next addition will be an old Fender Bassman. My guitar dealer is going to make me a good offer, cause I'm one of his best customers

i try to collect money, especiallly the 100 Euro issue...but i`m not that successful i want to be...




i have a little guitar collection aswell ...

I seem to try to collect everything I get into or intersted in eg: computer software,kites,(guitars "nothing brill")koi carp,CD's.etc etc
The thing is I think this is a real good thread (Kid Setzer) because we all seem to collect something.Sometimes it's just DUST
In the 80's/90's my wife collected these novelty tea pots and got about 50 of them.one came from America,BUT the MAD!! thing is , she HATE's tea

Sound equipment and Lighting I dont know if you can count that i use it for a DJ bussiness (I think I am collecting it)

My friend gave me a pick from when he went to see Tom Petty that the guitarist threw out (don't know his name) It has a cartoon of Tom Petty on it from when he was on The Simpsons. (see avatar<----) and of course I can't find it!!! But heres what it looks like. (not my pic)

The only picks I've caught myself were at Led Zepagain concerts. I have about five but they're not very rare to have.
My favorite pick though is this Dunlop one.

The 13, dice as teeth, hearts as eyes, spade as a mouth. Just seems like something Setzer would use.

That's a peavey Jf-1, it's a great instrument for a very good price.

I collect Hornby model trains and whisky. Only problem with the whisky is, that the collection doesn't manage to get too big - they have to be tasted a well

I collect jack daniels glasses and shot glasses, i also have a decanter. I'll try and post a pic.

I collevt records my most charrised is my original The Who Live at Leeds which i bought form an old roadie/comaneger of The Who, and random shit ahha
i jsut got a mandolin and i am about to get a Tele. I also collect old hats like Stedsons and other ones. and old posters like i have an original Led Zeppelin poster form 73 and an original Beatles poster from when they had Pete Best as the drummer.

In seperate news (but I don't want to start a whole new thread about it) I have a banjolin.. or manjo.. one or the other, like a cross breed between a banjo and a mandolin.. anywhooo.. how do I play it? I play guitar, but I'm confused...
