...FANTASTIC!!!!

AWESOME!!!!

I don´t know so much english words, so in german" total geil"!
The Venue in Hamburg is an Open Air Stage. It´s a City Park in the heart of Hamburg.
Very nice, but maybe not that loud we need it. Wink

First of all, Hot Rod Lincoln is a really cool Band.
They did a great Gig. My favorite was "Blue Cafe".

But the Kings were the Cats.
What a concert.
In think we were around 5000 people. The crowd in Hamburg was great.
Everybody was screaming, singing and dancing. It was a really awesome Rock`n Roll Party.

The Music was amazing. It seems really to me, these three cool guys like what they do.
Somebody wrote a few days ago, routine or something like that.
Yes, they know what they do. They are professional Players. But i think, they like what they do.
And it is pure Rock`n Roll. It`s absolut amazing. Not a big Lightshow and digital helpers or whatever.
Handmade rocking music.

They played such a great Set, i´m still impressed.

I cannot remember the whole setlist, but we were screaming to "7 nights to rock", "Sweet Gene Vincent" (what a version, nearly punkrock) "Lust n Love", "Cry Baby", "Gina", etc., etc.
And the alltime favorites for sure: "Runaway Boy", "Stray Cat Strut" and "Rock this town"

They came two times back to play an encore:
"Blast off", "I fought the law", "Please don`t touch", "Built for speed".

Thank you Brian, Lee and Jim for this crazy and rockin night you gave us.
You guys really rocked our town!

Rock`n Roll Cool

Brett

here a little impression:

P.S. Greetings to Brooklin Bomber, see you soon, mate.

P.S.S: i was at the backstage entry after showtime, but i didn`t saw a 5`10 model from sweden...

Hi Brett.

Awesome pics, you must have been nice and close. Glad you had a great time at the concert, you're wetting my appetite for our show in February.

Alles Gute.

by the way the setlist is still not correct @ the tour coverage page.
they didnt play "too hip gotta go" Sad one of my favs though.
and they started the second bonus round with "build for speed" straight before the last song "please dont touch"

who is doing the setlists by the way?

Brett,

was a pleasure to meet you. Unfortunatly we met on our way back home some guys with cool Astra. So you can imagine what it must have feel like the day after...

Cologne was awsome too but not as good as Hamburg even when they gave an second encore with "18 Miles To Memphis".. O.K. it was different somehow but also fantastic.

See you soon, Brett

Best

Yesterday in a Hamburg Newspaper was a very good article about the Stray Cats Concert.

It´s in german, sorry.
but the article says Cats were brilliant and they cannot believe it is a farewell. Cats have 9 Lives! Wink

Here ist the link:

For all of you who don't speak German I tried to translate the article in the Hamburg newspaper "Morgenpost".

Mind that I'm no native English speaker but I hope you will understand.

Rocking Cats

by Christoph Forsthoff

„Where’s my beer?“ asks the tattooed guitar player the people at the venue Stadtpark. “I’m older than 21 – at least a few years…” But tonight you don’t even notice that Brian Setzer is a little bit older when the 49 years old front man of the Stray Cats slides over the strings of his guitar. No, the family father jumps on the bass drum of band mate Slim Jim Phantom kneels down on the floor as homage to Rock ‘n Roll. And this hot running cat wants together with these other two tom cats say goodbye to Rockabilly?

At least their European tour calls “Farewell Tour”- even when the trio re-united four times since their first break-up in 1984. At least! And as if time has been turned back, there are sparks coming out of their semi acoustic guitars, the stand up bass shakes under Lee Rocker's bass play and the audience with the leopard skin decorated leather jackets rocks to the hitting beat of the drums. „The best night is tonight”, the always young Setzer says before the very last encore “Please Don’t Touch” and rocks again pogo dance-like over the stage. “Sexy And Seventeen”, “Stray Cat Strut”, “Runaway Boys”: No, the really good things never disappear but will be back, fresh, driving, loud. Cats do have nine lives. Guaranteed.
