I've got a very special memory about that gig, just in front of the sea. Crazy night that began with 2 opening bands.
Washington Dead Cats is a psychobilly (?) french band which front man has a big presence on stage. It's not really my cup of tea, but it sounds rebel, so...
Regarding Guitar Wolf, I think the correct word is horrible! That's how Noah Levy qualified them when I talked with him after the show in Luxemburg. Very horrible, in fact. Only one song... during 45 minutes! It's a japanese trio who "plays" kind of punk/garage/rock music. Except some guys, most of the audience was looking to put something in the ears because it's was loudly, too.
So you can easily imagine how happy we were when Brian came on stage playing Ignition!

The security service asked me to let my camera in the entrance of the theater; I had to follow a guy and I was a little angry. But finaly I can thank him for 2 reasons. First I saw the show with my 2 eyes and not through the screen of my camera with the obsession of taking a lot of lovely pictures. I felt, I lived the gig. Secondly, when I went to take back my camera after the show, I heard someone saying it would be easy to meet Brian and the band. And it was true! I met Lee and Jim twice but I've never could "catch" Brian until that night. Unforgettable!

I wondered who chooses the opening bands; more exactly does Brian have the possibilty to express an opinion about them? I asked it to Noah 3 days later and he answered that only the promoters decide... Sometimes, it's a pity...

Oh, I'd love to see that picture with Brian, Frenchy!!

And concerning support bands... I am sure that does not only depend on the promotors. I mean, sure they have some influence, but, what happened with Slaptones or Hot Rod Lincon?? If you have a band being the support for an entire tour, that means Brian or his managers have a great deal of influence. Imelda May was for sure Brian's idea. He loves her (and she does too!) and maybe he wanted to get her for more shows but due to her busy schedule, that was her only gap available.

Another different thing is that you are playing at a Festival, as for instance in Spain or Holland this summer... but when it comes to a venue... I think some artists can decide if they want a support or not or they don't mind. I am not into that business, but there must be something like this, just my impression
