Bill...Tommy is not purposely holding out on giving information about the tour. He lets us know as soon as he knows.

Hey WildCat, I know that.....I'm just lookin' to see some comments as to where it might/should be! Laughing

At the same time, for me it is a serious question. I'm in Manchester, UK so can get to London, Manchester, Glasgow then Dublin. But dependant on where the last gig was, could trade the lot in with the misses for one major trip to Australia/USA/Japan - or wherever!

Haha, yeah I was thinking I doubt they'd have their very last gig here.. you'd think either England or America.. However, that would be the greatest thing ever if it was Australia!! But yah, "tell him he's dreamin" Razz

I was floored when I saw the announcement of the the Farewell Tour. I saw the Cats play with ZZ Top and the Pretenders this summer in Vancouver and it was the best show I have ever seen. I specifically went to Vegas to see the BSO in December and that was fantastic. I really hope they do a pass through Canada (I would pretty much travel anywhere on the West Coast to see them though). I understand the whole ticket sales, musical motivation blah blah blah but the Stray Cats are one of the all time greats, even if popular music has taken a left turn... Good for them that they go out at the height of their popularity but I would love to see more solo stuff from all of them and BSO tours......but Brian sounds tired Sad

I guess the romantics here (like...ME) Would like to think that they'd choose either England, cos that's where they 'started' or some memorable venue in the U.S. But the cynic in me says that, the truth is, it's just business and it's wherever the promoter posts them! Help me out here if I'm wrong. The thing is, it may not always be just about hard cash for the artiste, but the business people involved are just that... business people and the most profitable arrangement will always prevail.

I'm still thinking that they should do it back in New York City or somewhere on Long Island, where the boys first formed the band.

Bill,
Ignore WildCat. What's she know? I know where the last gig's gonna be, but if I told you, you and your friends would track mud all over my house, stay the night and want steak and eggs for breakfast!

Make your reservations early,

HEY Kid Setzer,
Oh yeah, what a classic!!
Anyways, are ya gettin yourself ready to Rock if the Cats come Down Under?? I'm gonna hit the gym again with vengence so I can be super pumped up!!!

HEY TommyM,
No disrespect taken but.....is it REALLY that frightening? Does it remind you of THOSE bad dreams you had as a kid? I can change it if YOU want?
Hahaha dont worry I'm a big boy and I can take. No disrespect to you but I was wondering how you're connected to Brian? If you're his guitar tech, then you may have been the guy that gave me some of Brians guitar picks many years ago. If this is so then I knew I liked ya for a reason.

Cheers Pete.

Pete,
I was only kidding you mate. Your avatar is totally hip. I'm glad that you and Kid are awake. I'm updating the websites and really blaring Gene Vincent at the moment and it's real cool to have like-minded individuals at the end of my typing fingers.

My question to you guys is this....do you guys like Skippy the Bush Kangaroo as much as I do? Whatever happened to Clancy? Love that gal!

I met Brian in the early 1970s. We were on the same Little League baseball team. He taught me how to play with passion all the while avoiding ruining my pomp under a baseball cap.

Seriously, thanks for all the great posts!

HEY TommyM,

I really enjoy the banter and I never take it seriousily!
Infact, most of the time i'm on here is just before I go to work or after I get back normally about 12-1a.m. Great wind down time after having to put up with certain members of the public and staff issues!!
You must have some cool stories from the old days. Was Brian totally commited to the guitar back then? Did anyone think that he would make it? C'mon..tease us!!
By the way some Red Kangaroos can grow as high as 8 feet!!!! BIG coin purses!!
Cheers Pete.

P.S. I thought you might like a nice artsy photo for my next avatar. Does this one meet your approval? Love Peteee

To get back on topic....

I saw the Stray Cats this past summer on Long Island NY at Jones Beach in Massapequa, the cats home town. Here's what I would hope for....

Cats tour europe this late summer and fall....

Break around end of October....

BSO X-mas tour (which a tour in 08 of some kind has been sudo-confirmed)

Cats pick back up early spring do some remaining Europe/Japan

Summer US Cats tour ending at Jones beach in their home town of Massapequa!

Now how about that Tommy???
