Rockabilly Questions: volume 1 Empty

Hiya gang!

So there's some things I've always wanted to know about the rockabilly lifestyle/imagery, if some connoisseur could enlighten me... please, be my guest!

Volume 1:
- where does the 'nautical star' come from? And how/why was it related to rockabilly?
- same for cherries

Thanks in advance!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I gotta go work on volume 2 Wink

The nautical star is an age old sailor tattoo and originally the cherries symbol fertility. If ya don't like my cherries, please don't shake my tree, said one Jerry Lee Lewis and bucnh of others.

Plus it's always nice to have a compass tattooed on, because it's so much easier to wander home
from gigs when you know where the north is Wink
