Hey Tommy,

Could you ask Brian if he'll offer a scholarship package for a yankee who would like to attend the last four shows of the Euro tour? I can take care of my air fare and food. Just need lodging. In exchange, I'll offer to do road crew duties and be Mr. Setzer's personal flunkie. (light his cigars, fetch him a cup of tea, etc)

Ha ha Stan

That's not a scholarship, that's a positiion which we've all applied for. Currently, Pete's bid is in the lead as he's offering Brian his cool car collection and a million bucks (Aussie bucks i should mention) I dropped out at my house and first born... Anyway, have you studied hard enough how Brian takes his tea?? well Have you??? We're all currently on a course at college studying shit like that.... Not too strong, not too weak, and lemon, no creamer... Cigars need lighting for 27 seconds and no puffing...

Seriously Stan, I wish you could make the shows. Can't you jump into one of his traveling wardrobes or something - we'll take care of ya when you get here.

Thanks for the lesson Mikey. If I don't get the gig maybe I'll just sleep in one of those all night movie theaters like the Cats did during their early years.

But I think I'm still in the running. I'm asian, it comes natural to me to treat Setzer like gentleman whenever he's within eyeshot. lol!

Hey Stan

Funny how times change, but, when i lived in London, the only 24hr cinema i knew was the Screen on The Green (Islington - well, upper Stoke Newington really). In the 80's everywhere closed by 11pm. Just where did them pesky Stray Cats actually sleep?

BTW Stan, do you fit inside a nike sprts bag? (just thinking of ways of getting you on this tour man?)

Mucho respect

Will Work For Rockabilly Empty
PostSubject: Re: Will Work For Rockabilly   Will Work For Rockabilly EmptyTue Apr 08, 2008 5:27 pm

Y'know, just about every time I try and buy Setzer/Stray Cats tickets for the first show I see, without fail, a show closer to me comes along.

In 2005, I had a seat for the Ryman BSO show, purchased a full five months before any other tix went on sale. Several weeks later, the rest of the tour is announced, with a Minnesota show! I couldn't afford to do both - probably should have gone for the Ryman, but opted for the tour opener in Minneapolis, Brian's first show in his new hometown.

In 2007, I snagged a ticket for the first show announced on the Stray Cats Jackfest tour. Sure, there were three other bands on the bill, but it was the friggin' Stray Cats! Then, a Stray Cats headliner show was announced in Green Bay. DOH! A full Stray Cats set! OK, that's six hours from Minneapolis - the trip got a whole lot more expensive, but I'm in!

Not so fast... Aboot a week later, another Stray Cats headliner show is announced for Kansas City - 2.5 hrs away! With a family vacation looming later in the summer, I had to make the financially sound decision to go to KC. I have no regrets about that whatsoever, as it was certainly one of the finest nights of my life! All's well that ends well!

2008 - The BSO Christmas Extravaganza tour dates are announced - sure, there's a MN date, but the Keswick sounds just too tempting this year. As soon as my ticket arrives... a BSO non-Christmas show is announced in Colorado!!! DOH! (Actually, both shows should be incredible!)

So, Stan... Here's what I'm thinking: I'll buy a ticket to the Manchester show, and the minute that ticket arrives, I'm betting a Stray Cats tour will be announced in the US! It's nearly a sure thing, like when it rains hours after you wash your car! Very Happy

Whaddya think?
