Yep, I've got one - it's a cool practice amp with loads of effects and backing tracks to jam along with. Good for practicing blues / scales etc. For the money it cost, I can't fault it (has a handy tuner as well). Tony

| I agree, I got one for my wee lass. She uses it with her Tele '72 Deluxe and the rythmn and bassline presets are great fun to jam along to. It even allows you to preset a bassline backing in any key and fine-adjust the rythmn beat setting. you also get to choose between guitar sounds like Brit-rock, metal, etc... Definitely one to recommend... | |

| I have one too! I pretty much use the Fifties setting...has just a touch of echo and very clean tones. However I was thinking about getting a different amp. I was wondering about a Gretsch Playboy or some other tube practice amp. Any suggestions??? | |

| Get a Fender tube amp. G DEC is a nice tool to doodle around with but IMHO it's not even close to real thing in any ways. Sorry, don't want to bash anything or spoil the fun, this is just an opinion . | |

| Well, a few hours ago I made my first trip to a GC in about 7 or 8 months. I was on total heavy metal overload. They had a used GDEC for 139, so I nabbed it. Only played with it for a few minutes, but it looks like it's gonna be fun. ONe things it's going to provide me, in a very introductory way, is a 'band' to play with. I know loops and tracks aren't bandmates, but I don't have people to play with, so I think that if the opportunity ever presents itself, the GDEC will at least get me used to the feeling of playing along with something. Donpepe, your point about a quality tube amp is well taken, but it's just not in the cards for me right now. Maybe some day, or as the germans would say, "Eines tages."
By the way, they also had a used Gretsch Playboy for 1500 clams. USED! Sorry to be such a hick, but I had no idea they were that expensive.
