| I'm looking at a The Pacific Amphitheatre ad for the Stray Cats show and it shows Hot Rod Lincoln and Joe Ely on the bill. Tommy, can you confirm? Thanks! | |

| Confirmed!
The great Joe Ely is indeed on the bill and boy are we excited!! Brian hand-picked Joe for the gig.
See ya next month. Hopefully it won't be quite as hot as the 2003 Hootenanny.

| How cool is this an former neighbour of mine Bobby McCullough, who writes and sings his own songs, mainly Blues, once met Joe Ely, can't remember where (I will get the full story over the weekend) and ended up being told by Joe "you're not going anywhere till we play some music" Can you believe it, just an ordinary guy from Belfast ended up jamming with Joe Ely. He really didn't know what had just happened to him he said he was in shock for weeks on end. Liam | |

| Thanks T! I figured it was true, but I just wanted to make sure. The thing that'll make this hotter than the Hoot will be the music, and that works for me. The sun will be making an exit by the time The Cats get on stage, thankfully. The Hoot and The Jack Show were hotter than hell. Nice story, Liam. Have a great weekend, all! | |

| OK cats and kittens, gotta own to makin a faux pas. My story about Joe Ely was inaccurate. I was talkin to my friend Bobby McCullough again last nite. It transpires that Bobby actually jammed with Jesse Taylor who according to Bobby played with Joe post Flatlanders. He apparently also jammed with D J Cole, Bobby Irwin etc this was all about Camden Lock in the early 80s. Bobby tells me he used to play in places like Dublin Castle, Weavers Arms etc and he used to see Brian going to Dingwalls (would this be correct Tommy?). He tells me he's got one of the first T-Shirts with the Wild Cat logo, so he's gonna try and dig this out for me. It wouldn't fit me he's a small fry, but hey so far the past 5 days I've lost 7 pounds in weight, so ya never know come Sept 14 in Dublin it just might. Once again apologies for the boo boo. Liam | |

| Hey Liam, Sure, Brian spent quite a bit of time in Dingwalls, playing with the Cats as well as hangin' out watching other bands.

| Tommy, do ya have any photos of those days ya can post, I love all the early shots, especially the black and white ones, my favourites include the You Don't Believe Me single, and I think I have that single cover everyone was looking for a year or so ago, I believe there were a few different covers made.

| Liam, The "You Don't Believe Me" 45 was released with 4 different 7" sleeves. Click HERE and scroll down to see what I mean.
Oddly, there aren't nearly enough pix of the Cats in England in the very early days (Summer 1980 - early 1981). I do know that the cover of the "Runaway Boys" 45 sleeve was shot at Dingwalls. Must have been in fall of 1980.

| There's a picture of Setzer jamming onstage with Joe Ely somewhere in the archives but I can't find it. Any idea when and where it was taken? Must have been some time in 1983............. | |
