Stray Cats Font ???

I'm sure this has been asked before, but is there actually a font for the Stray Cats name logo, or is it still all done by hand?

You know, I've been thinking about this alot lately as well.. I've always wondered if there was an actual font, or if people just use an image of the 'stray cats' name and paste it on to images and what not.. would be cool if there was an actual font, I wonder what other letters in the alphabet would look like done in that style..

I've wondered that myself. What I'd REALLY like to get my hands on is the BSO font ala "Dirty Boogie" and has been used ever since.

This might help. I haven't been able to get it to work with the couple of images I've pointed it to, it seems to get confused easily, but if you have a clear, separated graphic of the font (without the cats head or other stuff in the image) it might work.

STRAY CATS logo came out first time in 1982 on the cover of "Built For Speed" I think. At this time design had not so many to do with computers and fonts.

If you have a look atsome promotion posters for "Rant 'n Rave" you can see that the designer used the letters from the logo to create other words out of them. Same with the Fall '88 Tour t-shirts of the STRAY CATS. The word "Rockabilly" on the front of the white shirt is also put together from the logo and the letters are used as basic for letters which are not included in the logo.

So I would say NO there is no font.
