VIVA LA BANANE!!

At like 3:17 into this live version of Stray Cat Strut https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0wnRo6TTEU Brian yells out "VIVA LA BANANA!!" (at least thats what it sounds like)
I'm sorry but I don't get it. Does it have some sort of meaning or does he just randomly shout that out because he's awesome.(I'm guessing the latter.)

I've got an Idea what it could mean.
The Video description says: Stray Cats live in 1981 at Hippodrome De Pantine*rare*
for me hippodrome de pantin, sounds french for me.
Well, I know a girl over the border , and she meant that my hairstyle (pompadour) is called banana.
Either it's this, or he's just crazy

Webelvis is right, in french a pompadour is called a banana and Brian used to say something to that effect whenever he's playing in France or Belgium.

And indeed, the Hippodrome de Pantin is in (or near) Paris, France

I can confirm :
- in french, a pompadour is called "la Banane".
- Brian is really toasted in this gig (I got the whole concert on DVD)
- this clip is taken from the Gonna Ball tour in february 1982, not 1981 (look at Brian's colour hair)

You have this concert on DVD??? How do I get a copy of that? I would LOVE to have it!!!

It's actually on e-bay (Paris 82 & Montreux 81) for less than 20€ if I remember well.
