For anyone who is planning to travel to see the Cats on tour and is looking for alternative means of accommodation, I would suggest checking out Couch Surfing:
http://www.couchsurfing.com/You offer your "couch" (or sofa bed, or spare room, whatever) for travelers to stay (for free!) and in return you can look for free places to stay while you're traveling! But it's more than free rooms - it's about making friends, learning about different cultures and giving someone the opportunity to see the "real" destination instead of the touristy one. And of course, being able to do the same when you travel!
We have hosted four different groups of travelers here in Australia - all were positive experiences, we met some great people and learned a lot about different countries. We're planning to do some Couchsurfing through Europe and will reconnect with at least one of the people that stayed with us here.
People always ask us if it's safe. There's a multi-tiered verification system you can go though, people can vouch for you, and you can leave reviews for people that you've shared couchsurfing experiences with. So I make a point of only contacting people who have full profiles, photos, and reviews that show that they're not axe murderers
