Am I alone in thinking this is funny? I laugh every time the caveman says, "I find". Hahahahaa!

I don't know Tommy....the whole caveman thing is getting a little old for me. I do however like the geico commercials with the celebrities. The one with Little Richard cracks me up. WOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Laughing

Never heard of Skippy. That must have been the Aussie equivalent to Lassie or Flipper.

I was getting tired of the Caveman thing, but that commercial cracks me up!

Posting the opening credits to Skippy the Bush Kangaroo is just plain cruel. But at least now I don't have to worry about Kid when she says she can blow a gum leaf. lol!

Now, where have I heard that song before?

Ooh! I just took out my blue vinyl copy of "13" out. Did you know that when you play The Hennepin Avenue Bridge Song backwards (and at 45 rpm), you get the theme to Skippy the Bush Kangaroo?

Well done, Mr. Setzer! Well done indeed!

Yeah Amity. It was on the USA Network back in the early 90s. I discovered it one night with my son. I found Skippy's movements very odd and wondered how they got a wild whatever-it-is to stay still for so long during filming. Tim Polecat (that ginger-haired nutcase) explained to me that Skippy stayed put because they nailed his feet to a heavy board. He swears that really happened. Watch the show and you may believe him.

Nail me kangaroo down sport,
T

If you listen very closely when playing the song backwards, you can hear The Brian saying "Skippy is dead. Miss him, miss him, miss him, miss him..." Creepy stuff indeed.

Skippy was definitely on US TV in the 60's or very early 70's. I'm not sure who aired it on the NY syndication channels; but it's lodged in the same part of my brain as Daktari, Flipper, Gentle Ben, Simba the White Lion and Gigantor.

I'd put The Littlest Hobo in that category too (a stray German Shepherd dog who wanders from town to town helping people in need and then he just keeps moving on).
