PostSubject: BSO at The White House   Wed Jul 16, 2008 8:13 pm

On June 29, 2006, the BSO performed in the East Room of The White House after an official State Dinner held in honor of visiting Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi of Japan. The short set consisted of Jump Jive & Wail, Blue Suede Shoes, Stray Cat Strut, and Rock This Town.

They were also joined on stage by Japanese C&W fiddler Shoji Tabuchi for two numbers, the first one an instrumental introduced only as a Bob Wills song. The second song was the instrumental Boil Them Cabbage Down.

Does anyone know the name of the Bob Wills song Tabuchi played with Brian?

Thanks for your help.

Cool avatar!

Not sure if that's an actual Bob Wills song or not.......I wonder if it's a "violin rag" of sorts, in the style of Bob Will? I have it down as Bob Wills Medley for now...............

"Bob Wills Medley" sounds good enough for me - unless someone is able to come up with the title.

And I know you know where the avatar is from - the marquee of the Fabulous Fox Theatre in Atlanta, GA on October 26, 1981. How awesome must that show have been?
