Funny you mention this Kid....The only time I have heard this quote was from a Seinfeld episode and from what I remember is from a movie? I have never seen the movie nor know the title.

I think there is a movie where one of the characters say 'A dingo et my baby'.. but it is actually a true story.. I think in the late 80's a couple and their newborn were camping in the Northern Territory and as the story goes a dingo went into their tent and took their newborn baby. The mother is quoted as running to the nearest police station screaming 'A dingo ate my baby!'.. because of her emotionless character towards the media she was actually sentenced to life in jail for murder of her child before being released I think 10 or so years later after she was proved innocent.. it's not a very nice story.

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azaria_Chamberlain_disappearance for the whole story. Meryl Streep played the mother in the movie, called "A Cry in the Dark" outside Australia.

They do say "barbie" here to mean barbeque, but I was surprised to learn they really don't say shrimp at all- they're all prawns.

Kid, it really is a different language in some respects. I mean really - "arvo" is "afternoon?" Only in Australia! Very Happy
