| I was wondering if anybody knows why Brian decided to stop using the lyric "There ain't a Goddamn thing that the cops can do?" I have seen him perform this song live many times over the past several years, and noticed that he has changed it to only say "damn." Not that it takes anything away from the song at all, I was just wondering if anyone knew the reason? | |

| Well, if you listen to the original, recorded version, Brian sings "damn thing" in the first verse, then "goddamn thing" for the rest of the song. With one syllable (SP?) less, there's more time to breathe while singing... Anders | |

| And I was wondering why Arista Records cut off the German 1-2-3-4 counting at the beginning of the song after the first pressing... BB | |

From the top o' Mount Sinai, Budgie I guess that's kind of what I was getting at. Did Brian make that omission for religious/spiritual reasons? Maybe he just felt it was more "family friendly" for the BSO crowd? Whatever the reason, doesn't matter, as it's still one of the greatest songs ever. I was just curious.

BB I could never understand what the heck Setzer said at the intro. So it's one, two, three, four in German. Amazing all these years I hadn't a clue.

From the top o' Mount Sinai, Budgie Brother Budge -- That there would be the Second Commandment, not the "Thrid" which is to keep Holy the Sabbath. I guess since it involves numbers which is a big problem area for you, you're forgiven! Sister BA

| I'm more interested to know any history about the Brighton beach area and any actual rumbles that may have taken place. The song kind of reminds of movies like The Wanderers and The Warriors. Oh and Deuces Wild too. | |
