SALVY AND DA HIRED HELP'S FIRST OUTTING......

Hey guys,
After thinking about it long and hard, our band Salvy And Da Hired Help, has decided to join the band line up for the monthly Rockabilly gig at the Adelaide Bowls Club on August 16. The other bands being The Saucermen and the Hoodoo Voodoo Dolls.

It'll be our first outting as a band as a whole, and not as guest appearences with our friends bands. Our singer and myself have been out of the band scene for 10+ years, so it'll be quite an interesting evening!

For those of you in Adelaide, turn up. We've been getting 140+ people to these gigs. $10 to see 3 bands is CHEAP! And CHEAP drinks prices as well!

Well, I hope to see ya there if ya live in Adelaide, come up and introduce yourself.

oh you checked out myspace...

i found a new band or project.
These guys play really old School Rockabilly. Drum, doublebass and guitar.
i play last week the first time with them and it was really cool. Some classics like "Thats allright, Mama" and some stuff written by the bandleader.

First gig will be in August 22nd. So i have to learn a lot of songs. (around 30... )

If i have new pics and more infos i let you know...

Gotta mention that the guys I'm playing with in those pix are Kenny from Overdrive (bass) the walking jukebox and what R'N'R dreams are made of, and my cuz Ross Brennan from The Icemen and Hard Copy (strat). These guys and Jorge from Overdrive and Bon'All are my mentors!

So, last week I go and put some posters up in the Cafe for our show on the 16 August, and as the lady that comes to change them walks in I tells her "Don't take those ones down, they're mine". She says "no worries". I go do the banking, walk etc etc. When I come back the girl that works with me laughs and says "Hey, ya gotta love the posters they put under yours".

This is what I found........and else where......

Is this karma?!?!?! Needless to say, since she was still there, someone got a few copies of brand spanking new posters!! The one on the right picture ended coming down and now resides some where with pony65k!!

I also found an original Stray Cats ticket from '91..........karma again?!?!?!

All I can say is bring it on!!

Awesome Pete! All of the Stray Cats tour posters I've seen have been pasted onto the wall and thus impossible to remove in one piece.. However, I was in a record store in the City yesterday and they had one pinned on the wall, of course I was tempted to obtain it for myself as it would have been easy to remove.. but I don't think the owner of the store would approve of such things

Hey sweet ticket for Thebarton! I've only ever purchased tickets through ticketek, lazy buggers never have fancy tickets.. did you purchase from the venue?

The Thebby tix were through Venutix, the Melb ones were Ticketek and no logo.
Maybe I'll send ya a Cats and one of our posters....for some cake!!!!
