| So, since my soccer team has its x-mas party this evening and I'm getting totally drunk for sure I was starting to wonder, what beer you guys and gals like, especially people outside of europe.
I know that at least in the USA you can't drink beer until you're 21, that's different in Germany, here youths are allowed to drink beer, wine, and other stuff from the age of 16. Hard liquor like vodka starting with 18.
My favourite beer in Munich is Augustiner Hell You can read more about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Augustiner_Br%C3%A4u
Other than Augustiner I like Beck's and Tegernseer Hell.
It's your turn.
Greetings Chris | |

| I was never much of a beer fan, but when I married a beer ""aficionado" I started at least trying the stuff he would bring home- he said it was SO good! I didn't really like many of them at all. I realized I truly do like Pacifico (Mexican beer) and years ago I used to drink Henry Weinhard's, which became really difficult to find. When we moved to Australia I started drinking Australian beers- XXXX, Toohey's, etc- but never really liked them. When we were in the UK recently, we went to a couple pubs a day! Dean was like a kid in a candy shop trying every beer in the country. I tried to drink half pints while he had pints.... about half way through that experience I realised, after 10 years of trying, that I hate beer. I would rather have a glass of wine or a Coke. But I still love Pacifico - go figure! So I guess that makes it my favourite! | |

| After four years of cheap beer almost every weekend in college, I just don't care for it much anymore. If I am out and have a "hankering" for beer, Michelob Light is probably my favorite of American mass-produced beers. In recent years I've definitely taken to trying the "microbrews" (locally brewed) at regional restaurants, etc. Where I live there is a restraunt that markets Emperyan Ales, and my favorite is Third Stone Brown. It's a dark beer, but not one with a heavy taste or aftertaste. It's not too "hoppy" or malty, very smooth. When I'm in Colorado I like to try the local microbrews in the ski resort towns as well. One of my fave's there is Breckenridge Pale Ale. At least I'm pretty sure that's the name of it....it's been a while since I've been to Breckenridge, or the Breckenridge Brew Pub (which I believe is the name of the restraunt--anyone from CO help me out??). Problem is, once you find a local microbrew it's usually not sold outside the region. And when you don't travel very much, like me.....you drink more wine! Have fun at your party tonight, Chris! | |
