G'day folks!
Some of you know me, some of you don't.....
Don't be shy I'm non judgemental, infact I don't follow any denomination!!
I love my daughters, wife and in general life....even though I'm going through a tuff time due to a bad previous business relationship that was based on lies and bad decisions...I've realized that no one is to blame but myself, I'm learning to deal with it and make the most of life and for my girls! WARNING!!! NEVER go into business with a friend, you lead with your heart, not with your head!! Now I'd like to lead with a straight kick to his balls, followed up with a hammer fist to the back of his head, knee to his face and then ground and pound till his face was a pulp!!! Sorry....a bit off the subject there!!
Talk to me, don't be afraid! hahaha!!
Besides music and guitars, I like cars , especially XR-XB GT Fords, and old bikes. I love to cook, and love good wine.
If ya share any of the same passions, let me know!
Cheers Pete.

Pete,

At least you're not bitter! (Sorry, mate, just a little humor to lighten things up.)

Seriously, I don't think you ARE bitter, because I don't remember any of that stuff coming out before on the forum. Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience - I hope things turn around quickly for you!

Rock on,

Hey Bear85,
How goes. Nah I'm not bitter! hahaha!! I hope no body goes through what I've had to. It can mess you and your family up a bit, that's why sometimes ya gotta talk about it and get over it. The worst is gone now and I'n concentrating on the positives that lie ahead. This forum has been a good release as my love of Stray Cats and Setzer always makes me feel better, and the people on here are a great bunch as well.
Cheers Pete.

Pete, I think you and my husband Dean will get along great! I am the beneficiary of many a fine meal, as he enjoys cooking as well. I just wish I could get him to stick to a recipe once he perfects something, but the problem is he doesn't use a recipe so it's always different! Ah well, that makes it an adventure.

He's also a bit of a wine snob (In a good way! Smile) He lived in Adelaide for about 3 years and even took a wine appreciation course while living there - so he can talk about the bouquet, the colour, blah blah blah. Me, I just know what I like. I only drink one or two glasses. More than that turns into a headache and there's no fun in that. Same with beer. After that I switch to soft drinks - I'm a cheap date! Very Happy

Hey andi,
Yeah, I've spent close to 20 years in and out of running cafes. (Fact 1: I worked Security and Investigation as well in my time.) Always up front of house, never in the kitchen, except for the years I worked as a pizza maker when I was going to Uni. (Fact 2: I have Associate Diploma in Interpreting and Translating NAATI Level 2.)
I love to cook for friends and family, and enjoy sharing my wine collection with them as well! I guess this is because I don't technically cook for a living.
In regards to wine, I'm not a real wine snob, you can easily tell if a wine is good or not by the taste of it, and the old rule of white with fish and white for the girls and red for the boys means nothing to me if you don't enjoy what ya drinking.
If you guys ever come to Adelaide let me know, plenty of great wine and good food in this state!
Cheers Pete.

Oh yeah....
I'm guilty of the old "never sticking to the recipe" routine! I think that's why I enjoy it as well, just go for it and hope for the best!!!!

Hey buddy,
Yeah, I like listening to all kinds of muic, but I guess rockabilly is my favourite. The Burnettes definately, the originators of raw rockabilly in my books! These guys would've been the Sex Pistols of their day! I like early Elvis, Perkins, Lewis, not really up to it with English stuff like Wilde and Fury, but I've liked what I've heard. I guess the heavier/harder/rawer taste in rockabilly is my scene. Kinda like a cross between Stray Cats/Meteors/Rev. Horton Heat/Cramps sorta sound and feel, that's what I try to get out of my music when I play as well.
Cheers Pete.

Aaaah!! Here's Mr Pluto's introduction!! Cool beans!! Wink

Seriously, that sucks about your business partner.....especially if there is (was) a friendship involved too. Sad I'm really sorry to hear that. It sure does put into perspective what is important in life when you go through the tough times, and come out the other side, with your family by your side......and music to help get you through.

I'm one of these "chuck a bunch of things together and see how it turns out" cooks. I often make something and it is fricking yummos, and to try and replicate it, I just can't......hah! I've no idea how much of each ingredient I've put in, cos I don't tend to measure, or even have a list of ingredients......it just comes together til it tastes right. Laughing

I once remember Adam ringing me at work to ask how long he needs to cook the spuds for......geigh! No Oh dear.

And as for wine....well, we come from an area full of wineries....Montana Wines etc......and, I don't drink wine. I like sweet drinks. Gimme Kahlua anyday, and I'm a happy girl. drunken

Anyways.....this intro is about you, not me!!

Looking forward to interacting with you more Mr Pere.

Hey gizmopumpkin,
Yep chuck it all together and see what comes out is the best way to cook. No matter how much you stick to a recipe, it'll never be the same, so why not experiment I say.
Alot of great wines coming out of NZ, especially Giesen wines and the surrounding Marlborough area.
Cheers Pete

Hey Jewel,
Yep, I got that dvd as well, love it.
You on the South Island? Is there snow skiing resorts there? My inlaws went to NZ, I can't remeber what part, but they said and photos showed what a natural beautiful place it is.
