| Dru, If you have the clear pickguard, you can paint it. Get model spray paint at a hobby store. Make sure you paint the backside of the pickguard only. Good luck. | |

| Hey, thanks for the comment on my Gretsch
In order to get that sticker it was simple really. I just copy/paste it from the setzer re issue website. Then I played with the contrast on the picture editing software, and sized it to the size I wanted then printed it out on a blank sheet of sticker paper. What's cool about it is that you end up with baiscally the same wear marks and all from the setzer guitar. Just a steady hand with the exacto knife and wala! | |

| about the pick gourd, I must agree with nj stray cat on how to go about painting it. I'll send some picks of my pickgaurd but baisiclly I did the same thing with mine. Only difference is that I had reverse sticker Gretsch logo put in the back of the clear pick gaurd. Then I sprayed over it and then you have a preety authentic looking pick gaurd. I got my sticker logo from a guy named setzer signs online at the gretsch pages forum. Just in case you were wondering. | |

| Hey, thanks sunrecord. I heard TV jones are the best, I never realy played a guitar with them but I hope to one day. my gretsch has filter trons that I got cheap on ebay. its funny realy, I bought the pickup bezels from TV Jones (English mount). and NJ stray cat; heres the link to the setzers signs website. just drop him a line for what you want and hell send you the stickers. http://www.signsearch.com/client/search_client.cfm/28566 heres what the pickgaurd finished product looks like. as you can see, the gretsch humbuckers which originally came with the guitar are way bigger than the filtertrons so theres a slight gap at the pickup locations. in the future ill swap it out for a 6120 pickgaurd so that it'll fit better but as for now, I think its alright. also one more thing that I cant stress enough....Ive been playing my guitar for like 6 months but it still dosent play nearly as well as the 6120 (as i have gone to GC on occasion) It was real frustrating so I heard of having the guitar properly setup at a guitar shop by adjusting the trussrod, and bridge to improve intonation and action (they are made in korea at a far less quality control than the ones made in japan, sometimes even the necks are warped brand new, dont know why? probably due to the drastic changes in humidity when exported but hey still dont know why?) . so I had the setup done and ive never been happier. its as close to the playing feel of the higher end gretches as your gonna get and boy...it was like I bought a brand new guitar! very impressed and very happy with that. | |
