| So, I met a couple Aussie chicks tonight. They we're pretty cool - Jane and Jo. Jane and Jo both knew of the Stray Cats, and they said I was "old school" for liking the Stray Cats. I was taken aback. Not because they called me "old school"... that's been established. I was surprised, because those Aussies couldn't hold their booze!!! I was severely disappointed. Anybody, can ya shed some light on this? Tell me I've been hallucinating - I thought Aussies were invincible. CHEERS! | |

| Some of the more fuzzy parts of last night are starting to ooze their way back into clarity...
They said they were from Adelaide... and I'd say jet-lag could have been a real possibility, but I would personally never THINK of using such a poor excuse.
Maybe I'm the invincible one!
They did get me to dance, though... which is a pretty tough thing to do, so I gotta give 'em SOME credit. Damn, they were cute, too!

| I am just a little older than you!!
Nah, what you got to remember is that alot of my generation's parents were teenagers in the 50's, so we knew what Bodgies and Widgies are. Some of my friends parents were still dressing and acting that way when we were growing up. You know, jeans, t shirts witgh the packet of cigs rolled in the sleeve and ripples. In fact, I've always had a pair of ripples since I was 15, and i still wear a pair even to this day! Sorta like the original Teds in England I guess. Kinda cool cause we had a direct connection to the Rock'n'Roll era.

| You can still buy Ripples at Kmart here Pete. Kid, Adelaideians the same as Tasmanians??? That's a real low blow, even for you. Just to embarrass myself, I can't hold my booze either, so under Pete's theory that would make me a Shelia René | |

"greaser" is a pretty universal term, is it not? I actually don't know what ripples are either.. must be something old people say Haha and no, I was merely pointing out that the bogan is the Australia equivalent to 'White trash' in case it ever came up in conversation sometime in the future. | Wow. This has been very... educational!
Strangely, I feel left-out knowing I could sit in a room with some of you, only feet away, and you could carry on a conversation but I wouldn't understand any of it. Gotta love the lingo, and the accent, too!
