| Hey guys This is maybe a long shot, but; any of you guys know where the 2 live tracks on the B-side of Little Miss Prissy (UK, 81) were actually recorded? A mysterious credit at the side of the label says "recorded live somewhere"..... and I've been wondering ever since. Why did they not just tell us!!??? PS - both tracks; Sweet Love on my Mind Somethin' Else are electric! I remember at the time being desperate to get the chance to see a live show because of these tracks. I had to wait until 1989!

| Hello Everyone! I believe that Stray Cats toured England and in fact a lot of Europe right up to October 1981 before returning to America for the famous 'Fridays' performances. So it's difficult to pin point the exact venue and date. I have two guesses! 1. 'Sweet love on my mind' sounds a lot like the 'Rockpalast '81 in Germany gig. But the downside to that is that the 'Something else' from that is a different version to the B side of 'Little Miss Prissy'. 2. If i remember correctly, 'Drink that bottle down' was recorded in Newcastle....so it might well be that more than one song was recorded that night. So at a push i'll say Newcastle.

| Hi Radiation Newcastle is listed (with date) for Drink That Bottle Down so I think you might be right; but why couldn't they just tell us? Maybe they recorded so much stuff that it all got mixed up? And maybe someone somewhere still has a big stash of unreleased live stuff from 80/81......and maybe............. | |

| Thanks for the input guys; I agree Newcastle looks likely, if those tracks were recorded in England. Its interesting really to note that if the gig listings on the Anchorman site are correct, it is a myth that Stray Cats toured the UK extensively. They made a massive impact in 80/81 then played just ONE gig in London until the Blast Off tour off 1989! (no doubt someone will correct me). You can always sense from interviews then (and now) that they guys were dissapointed with sales in England of Gonna Ball and subsequent singles..but its a fact; back then you had to tour to get noticed / keep the interest. I live in the north of England and clearly remember feeling like they had disappeared. It was a looooooonnnnnng wait before all the publicity for Rant n Rave and even then all the talk of a UK tour came to nothing. ONE London gig!? Come on Cats...Bring it Back Again!!!!! | |

| I moved to London from Wales in October 1983 and the band played the Lyceum Ballroom on The Strand on the night I moved up. That was a great gig, with a guest appearance from fellow Welshman Dave Edmunds. I also saw them countless times at Hammersmith Odeon (once), Kentish Town (at least twice) and other venues within that period, so it was a fairly extensive tour of UK. | |

| hey Buddy
i dunno, but to this day, when i listen to that version of Sweet Love On My Mind, i think it's THE best thing ever. I'm serious. It moves me more than anything anyone has ever done before or since. Better than Bobby Darin's Beyond The Sea, better than Setzer's million other records. it's just the best version of any song ever.

| But, maybe tommy could ask Brian. i mean, he played them, and with it been so early in hos career it may be a memorable time. My money is on The Rainbow, where they opened for Elvis Costello and had real raw energy and attitude. Wish I was at that gig.
