| The Music Player easily has to be one of the coolest additions to the website. This week, it's a fine mix of old favorites and new discoveries. I'm curious, what are the sources for the versions of Honky Tonk and (Gettin) In the Mood which currently reside in the music player? | |

| Good question, Rick. 'Gettin In The Mood' definitely sounds like the trumpet version, but not the version that was included as a bonus disc at Best Buy. The mix is completely different. | |

| Bryan Adams is the vocalist. It's from the VH-1 Duets program
Because I'm lazy, I'm gonna cut-n-paste a list of where I think these tracks came from. Feel free to update and correct me if I'm mistaken:
Ubangi Stomp - From the Stray Cats UK debut album; Unreleased in the US Wild Saxophone - From the Stray Cats UK debut album; Unreleased in the US Gonna Ball - From the Gonna Ball UK second album; Unreleased in the US Crazy Mixed-Up Kid - From Gonna Ball UK second album; Unreleased in the US That's Alright Mama - (with Stray Cats) From the Johnny Hallyday album 84 Nashville Direct; Unreleased in the US How Long You Gonna Live Anyway? - From Rant-n-Rave (a great song that never turns up on compilations) Lookin' Out My Backdoor - B-Side to Rebels Rule Look at That Cadillac - Rant-n-Rave, also a single Two of a Kind - B-side from Gina Bobby's Back - From The Knife Feels Like Justice Rosie In the Middle - Live Nude Guitars Honky Tonk - Reportedly from the advance promo edition of the Brian Setzer Orchestra debut album Can't Help Falling in Love - Rockin' By Myself Rock This Town (w/ Bryan Adams) - recorded at the VH-1 Duets telecast, 26 March 1996 - on a CD Single version of the BSO's Rock This Town Gettin' In the Mood - Is this the Trumpet Version that saw limited release at shows in 2000? It seems very quiet, and it sounds slightly different from the "Trumpet Version" I have. Little Deuce Coupe - Brian Setzer and Brian Wilson MOM 3 Compilation Luck Be a Lady - Luck Be a Lady Japan only EP; also US Best Buy bonus disc on NBFD Ignition - Ignition album - not rare, but a damn fine tune Mini Bar Blues - From Red, Hot and Live Bach's Bounce - from Japanese version of Wolfgang's Big Night Out

| The version of "(Gettin) In the Mood" that I put on the Music Player is previously unreleased. It's an alternate take that appeared on the first pre-release "Vavoom" CD.
I'd not listened to the Brian/Bryan version of "Rock This Town" in years. Gotta say, those 2 sound really good singing together. Would have been perfect had Bryan remembered all the words. Our Brian's solo on that track is killer. Glad I dug that one out of the vault.
My fingers remained crossed for a BSO remake of "Bobby's Back".
FRIDAY....thank God, Tommy

Now I gotta go listen to "Knife Feels Like Justice"....like I need an excuse
