I was chatting with Kid the other day about our mutual love for comedy and I wanted to see what everyone else on the board enjoys.
I am a comedian for a living, I'm part of an ensemble from Second City here in Chicago and a few other sketch comedy groups.
I think Steve Martin & Bill Cosby are the oldest records I can remember listening to. I love alot of mainstream stuff like Second City, Seinfeld, The Office, The Simpsons, South Park, Jim Gaffigan, a little Dane Cook, Robin Williams, Dan Akroyd, John Belushi, Leslie Neilson, Will Farell, Tina Fey, Mel Brooks and Richard Pryor.
I also love alot of non-mainstream stuff like Aqua Teen Hunger Force, The Critic, Patton Oswald, Brian Posehn, David Cross, Mr. Show, Upright Citizens Brigade, Stella, Michael Showalter and Zach Galifanakis.
So.......
What do you guys like?

Pretty much mainstream stuff for me. But Also: - Beavis & Butthead - John Waters films (Pecker is my fav) - Will Farrell makes me laugh just looking at him. Love his recent movies like Anchorman, Old School, etc. - My parents used you to listen to Bill Cosby records all the time (as a matter of fact I have them still). - Some Monty Python
Shows that make me laugh or that will always cheer me up are: - The Simpsons - King of the Hill - Keeping up Appearances - Are You Being Served - Strangers with Candy (although it's not on anymore) - Anything with chimps or monkeys. Like Lancelot Link that was on when I was but a wee lass.

This is long, but it totally kills me especially from 4:37 onwards.
Love Two and a Half Men. Very bawdy for todays crappy politically correct world. Get Smart and The Munsters are my all time favourite 2 shows. I saw Rich Little live, very funny man, Dave Allen (RIP) had me in stitches. The king Rodney Dangerfield (RIP)!!!!
Dh yeah BlastOff, Everytime that the Kid speaks I start to laugh at her, and she doesn't always say something funny! Cheers Pete.
Gee thanks Pete..
I like live comedy moreso than stuff on TV. Once I went to this comedy bar called 'Moulin Beige' and I went to the door to pay to get in, and the lady was like 'Oh you don't have to pay because you're one of the performers'.. so I must look funny as well

That one's from Gerhard Polt, the godfather of bavarian Comedy. This sketch is the only one you might find funny because he speaks "English" in this one. He impersonates a Bavarian Politician who has a speech on democracy in a made up african country called "Tschurangrati". It's very funny because he really acts like one of those dumbass poloticians who can't hold a good presentation, even if that's their job... have fun
ATM I don't watch any German TV exept the news. I recently watched all the English episodes of Scrubs, my favourite TV Show and right now I finished the first english season of "My name is Earl". I love US Tv Shows. I also watch Southprak, Simpsons and Malcolm in the Middle alot, but only in english

National Lampoons Vacation movies Funny Farm Caddyshack
Also Mel Brooks movies, Monty Python, Michael Myers
We watch alot of stand up on Comedy Central but one of my favorites that I saw was Brian Regan. Zach Galifianakis was awesome as well.
HBO special with Dana Carvey and another one thats aired alot which cracks me up is Bill Cosby as Himself.
And of course my favorite TV show, Seinfeld.
Oh one other mention the older episodes of Spongebob Squarepants. I would have never watched this show if it weren't for my kids but glad I did. HIlarious.
Older episodes of The Simpsons as well. Sherry Bobbins!

there are some really good irish comedians around at the moment... tommy tiernan etc.... i think though that it really does depend on where you come from no offence to my american friends but a lot of people wouldn't get irish and scotish comedy for instance as its very similar, very dark and sarcastic and not afraid to mention religion etc etc... however my simple philosophy(what a big word for me considering i'm 4 cans in to the night) is if you can make one person smile well then the world is a lot better place

Gosh there's this Irish comedian I love.. I can't remember his name!! Jason...Byrne I think.. something Byrne.. he's hilarious because he gets angry..
As for great Australian comedians there is Tim Minchin (musical comedy), Adam Hills is good and he only has one foot so if you're lucky he'll take his fake foot off for you, Lano and Woodly, The Umbilical Brothers (they'll make you love mime!), Carl Barron.. there's heaps of great Aussie comics, I just can't remember their names
Live comedy owns TV so you should all get out to your local comedy bar
